We are committed to working with government and public entities to advance policies that support women's empowerment in the maritime sector. Drawing on MphoM's extensive experience with the Ministry of Transport, representing South Africa at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and collaborating with South African maritime entities, we aim to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women. Our approach leverages MphoM's deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry dynamics to develop strategies that promote gender equality, foster talent retention, and drive sustainable growth within the sector. Together, we can build a maritime industry where women thrive and lead.
We are committed to bridging the gap between government and the maritime industry by leveraging MphoM's extensive experience and deep understanding of governmental processes, policies, and legislative frameworks. With a background in economics and advanced studies from the World Maritime University, MphoM brings a unique approach to this collaboration. Her experience working in government, particularly with the Ministry of Transport and representing South Africa at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), equips her with the insights needed to effectively align industry practices with regulatory requirements. Through our initiatives, we aim to foster seamless cooperation between government entities and maritime industry stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive and progressive maritime sector.
We are dedicated to working with current and aspiring maritime professionals to support their career growth and development. Our free mentorship program connects mentees with experienced mentors from our extensive database of maritime industry stakeholders. Through personalized guidance and support, we aim to empower individuals to navigate the maritime landscape successfully. Additionally, we leverage our influence on social media platforms, and our presence as speakers and panelists at conferences to shape the narrative and advocate for inclusivity and transformation in the industry. Together, we can build a stronger, more diverse maritime community.
